Mt. Hamilton Run
Well, it was Valentines Day so we spent it with the ones we love, our Harleys! Three of us ended up riding to San Jose so that Kirk could prove his manliness by eating the "Inferno" at Fireaters. It is a great little spot as featured on "Man vs. Food". Kirk ate the hottest wings they had without so much as a sip of beer, or wipe of a napkin...truly something to behold. He is the man. I asked for the dipping sauce preferred by little girls. It was on the edge of being too hot. Boots opted for the hamburger...perhaps even wiser or whimpier than my choice... After filling our stomachs, we headed up Rt 130 to Mt Hamilton, site of numerous observatories. If you have not done this ride, I highly recommend it. You better be ready to horse your bike around one hairpin turn after another. The view from the top is spectacular. Hard to imagine that much open space in the Bay Area. We left Mt. Hamilton and inched our way down the mountain until it connects with Mines Rd. From there it is a "straight shot" (20 miles of hard curves) into Livermore. Perfect day, perfect ride! See you on the road.
