I started riding bikes when I was a teenager in Africa. I rode several small trail bikes on the dirt roads in the bush. After graduating from high school, I returned to the U. S., spent a year in college then joined the Air Force. While in the Air Force I had a friend that had a Honda 750 and he and I had a deal going. When he wanted to go on a date, he would take my car and I would ride his bike. He went on a lot of dates and I went on a lot of rides!
After the Air Force, I moved to Oregon, got married and didn’t ride much for a while. All the time I was raising my family, I would see and HEAR the Harley’s go by and wish I could be riding. I went to a business meeting one time, in Napa CA and two of my fellow NorCal Mild Hogs, rode their bikes to the meeting. When they drove away from the meeting, I knew that a bike was in my future. Shortly after the meeting I moved to Las Vegas then a year or so later to Fort Lauderdale FL. I had always kept my motorcycle endorsement up, but I wanted a refresher, so while I was in Florida I took a motorcycle safety course. I started renting bikes on weekends and I was hooked.
In late 2004 I moved back to California. I was ready to purchase my bike, but my daughter was ready to get married and you know what came first. My time was coming!
In early 2006, I finally made the move. The boss agreed and I bought a 2006 Road King. Since then I have spent many hours riding with my friends from the Napa meeting.
I hope you enjoy riding as much as I do.
See you on the road…
P.S. the nickname is the most recent of a long string of names, i.e. Tailgate, Scout, and Baby Bird. Repo Man actually refers to a recent project Jerry undertook at work, taking back company cars from employees. It earned him the "admiration" of his peers (LOL) and the appropriate nickname. As you can imagine, he has a price on his head!
