Today was an excellent day for a ride. Cool and no rain. Hard to complain about too much rain in California, particularly as the wet season comes to a close...I hope. We left Benicia and met up with Repo Man and Repo Woman... I know you hate that, Doni. There were plenty of other bikers on the road as well as CHP. From Rio Vista we went up highway 160. If you have never taken the river road, it winds its way along the levee, from one small town to the next, crossing back and forth across the river via draw bridges. It is a very enjoyable ride then there is little or no wind, which is not often on the delta. We eventually found our way to Old Town Sacramento where we had lunch at Joe's Crab Shack.
After a wonderful lunch, we gave Old Town a once over and then headed down I-80. As you will note from the picture, some of the Mild Hogettes (I'll bet they hate that name) were in tow, brightening up discussion and scenery. We did unfortunately come across an accident involving a motorcycle. Luckily, neither bike or rider appeared to be too bad. The rider was propped against a guardrail on his back talking on the cell phone..."honey do you want the good news or bad news first?". Ray had his first opportunity to split lanes with the rest of us. He did great.
I'm happy to report that we had the entire club out today, ate well rode hard and made it back safe.
See you on the road!
